Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in Havana Cuba. The family moved to Miami after she reached 2 years old. Ana was raised in Havana, Cuba. Her move to Miami along with her family at age 2 after moving from Havana. The birthplace of Ana Maria Polo was Habana, Cuba, Ana Maria Polo is the host of the prestigious Telemundo show "Caso Cerrado" which is the first Spanish programming to be nominated for the Daytime Emmy(r) Award, and it was named the most popular Spanish-language programming in the 4pm hour across all important demos. Polo was born April 11, 1959 Havana, Cuba and went on to attend Florida International University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in political sciences. Later, she was awarded her PhD degree in law at the University of Miami. In the end, she obtained the PhD in law from The University of Miami and practiced law for more than 20 years in Miami. Polo first made her appearance on TV in 2001 with Telemundo's Sala de Parejas. She took part in court shows that tapped into her expertise. Literature Accolades She published Los Hijos Muertos in 1958. The novel received the Critic's Prize and it was also awarded the Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute left Spain in 1960 to go to the United States in 1960. She is a breast cancer survivor. Polo often speaks, and has a tendency to raise money for the causes. She has advocated for LGBT rights all throughout her life. She graduated in 1987 of the University of Miami School of Law and a Florida Bar member.
